Mav's Art Blog

So as none of you may know, I’ve been sick for the passed 3-4 months now which has pretty much made me put my art on hold for the time being. Hence my lack of posting/updating this blog. I’m trying not to let it hold be back too much if I can help it though, so I decided to try picking up a tablet again. This is what I got for my efforts: A character I haven’t seriously drawn in about 3 years now. I’ve always been hesitant to introduce him and really any of the characters in Calo and I’s WoW-inspired universe, but I decided to say fuck it. It’s about time they got some art, so have a WIP.

This is my Holy Paladin, Knoah. Everything will look less shitty(the wings especially) if I actually make the effort to continue this, I promise. Enjoy the sneak peak until then and hopefully I’ll get back into the swing of posting art for you guys soon.

Aaaah, my tumblr absents completely made me miss you posting this here. Look at this gorgeous beast. It’s stunning on so many levels. I literally wrote her a novel with my thoughts and feelings on this amazing piece of work when she showed it to me, but I’ll spare you all of watching me jizz in my pants over artwork. Seriously though, Chim. Your art will never cease to blow my mind. It came out perfect and Lielekar is simply jaw-dropping in your style. Thank you again for capturing him so spot on for me.

This on so many levels. I have such a bad impression of a “popular” PI artist because they had the nerve to pop into one of my first threads with #1 and some sugar coating. Good job. I personally love comments of all kinds, even the “cools!” as I’m sure there are other artists in the same boat, but some stuff like this can’t help but rub me the wrong way (whether it’s on my own art or not.) Do try to respect that most artists will draw and share what they want and that most of these unhelpful comments are not needed or healthy in their growth as an artist.

My half of an overdue sketch trade with one of my old bros Mav of his Incubus Liel.  Decided on going with his more bestial form simply because I’m terrible at felines and need more practice with them.  While challenging I def had some fun with this one, hope you like it!

Damn Bro, that’s not a sketch, what are you doing to me?! This looks fucking amazing man, thank you so much. Mine feels completely inadequate in comparison, thanks for that. Haha, but seriously, this turned out great. Totally thrilled to see him in your style and you captured him marvelously. I’m flippin’ out over here thanks again. I love it.
